Received an email from ANTAI?
Since 2018, ANTAI has been issuing fixed penalty notices electronically in order to minimise the environmental footprint of its document-printing process, which in 2023 involved sending more than 58 million letters. This digital approach also simplifies procedures for citizens by offering the advantages of dematerialisation, such as speed and digital accessibility, while making it easier to benefi...

There are three different situations in which you are likely to receive an email from ANTAI:

  • Via the vehicle registration system (SIV):
ANTAI uses the email address linked to your vehicle registration from the database of the French National Agency for Secure Identity Documents ("ANTS"), which keeps records of vehicle registration certificate ("carte grise") applications. If you change address, sell or buy a vehicle, you must update this database (Articles R. 322-1 and R. 322-14 of the French Highway Code) by going to the website https://immatriculation.ants.gouv.fr.
  • Via third-party designation:
ANTAI sends fixed penalty notices electronically to the email address provided to us if you are designated by a car rental company, or your spouse, or by any other person who lent you their vehicle.
  • Via the police, if you are stopped:
ANTAI will send the fixed penalty notice electronically to the email address provided to the law enforcement officer.

In order to ensure that the email you receive actually comes from ANTAI, and to avoid the risk of fraud, it is essential that you check the following before starting any online procedure:

  1. Check that the official logos (Marianne and ANTAI) are visible. Also check that the sender's address is ‘nepasrepondre_noreply@antai.gouv.fr’.

  2. Check that the recipient's name is actually yours (or that of your company if a legal entity is concerned).

  3. Click the ‘Access the offence(s)’ button to view your offence(s). Alternatively, copy and paste the URL into your web browser, making sure that you are taken to ‘https://usagers.antai.gouv.fr/...’, which is our official procedures portal.

  4. You will then be able to do one of the following:
  • Accept to receive fixed penalty notices electronically. In this case, download the PDF document to your computer, keep it, and take the necessary steps (payment, designation, appeal) within the specified time limits.

  • Refuse to receive fixed penalty notices electronically. If you refuse or fail to view your offence(s) electronically within 7 days, the paper version of the fixed penalty notice will automatically be sent to you by post. Check that your address is current on your vehicle registration certificate (the "carte grise"). If it is not, update it as soon as possible at https://immatriculation.ants.gouv.fr.

WARNING: In recent months, fraudulent emails have been circulating, offering you the possibility to pay or appeal against unpaid fines on counterfeit official websites that aim to collect your personal information and bank details illegally.

We strongly advise you to carefully follow the instructions above and recommend reading the following news article: ‘Beware of fraudulent text messages, emails and websites’.
